Product-Manager Erling Ellingsen von Funcom (Anarchy Online, Age of Conan, The Secret World) stand CVG für ein Interview zur Verfügung. Darin dreht es sich allgemein um das MMOG-Genre, die MMOG-Entwicklung und Funcoms Investition in MMORPGs. Im Rahmen des Interviews äußerte sich Erling Ellingsen unter anderem besorgt darüber, dass die Qualität einiger halbherzig entwickelten MMOGs dem Genre schaden.

"I am worried about some developers releasing half-hearted games that can't live up to the high expectations the marketplace now have for these sorts of games" [...]
"Not necessarily because they're not talented enough, but because they're going into the genre with limited means. Creating these games takes a tremendous amount of resources, both people-wise and money-wise, but especially in terms of using the right technology. These games are hard to make." [...]
Zu viele Entwickler würden sich seiner Meinung nach in die MMOG-Produktion stürzen, ohne dabei zu bedenken, dass die Entwicklung eines MMOGs viele Ressourcen (Mitarbeiter und Geld) benötigt, um ein gutes Endergebnis erzielen zu können. Link: Zum Interview
